Founded some 15 years ago by Victoria Cranfield, The Proper Marmalade Co.
had already established itself as a thriving artisan brand by the time I arrived
in 2023. Victoria wanted t to retire but we were both keen to continue the
legacy. The transition was marked by a period of close mentorship, with
Victoria and I working side by side for six months to ensure the recipes and
techniques were faithfully mastered.

By 2024, that dedication had translated into industry recognition and I
secured a Double Gold Award at the Dalemain World Marmalade Festival, while
also earning a prestigious listing at Fortnum & Mason. Additional Gold
awards followed from Dalemain, Taste of the West, and Food & Drink Devon,
reflecting the continued consistent quality and success of some new, original
creations.

Momentum has continued into 2026, with me achieving five Golds at the
Dalemain World Marmalade Awards. Once again, my marmalade has been selected for
stocking by Fortnum & Mason, underscoring its growing reputation within the
premium preserves market.
